JUBA (17th July) the director for security and intelligence in the ministry in an interview at the closure of a four day workshop organised by the Swiss Security System Reform Team has revealed that 'Khartoum intelligence' have unwarranted “access to secret intelligence” in southern Sudan. Mr. Daniel Lual Deng admitted “At the time being we can not avoid it, the Khartoum Intelligence have total access to our intelligence information; whatever they collect, they can access”.

Arab resolution on Sudan rejects "attempt to politicize

CAIRO (21 July) - The Council of the Arab League [AL] at the ministerial level has said it does not accept the unbalanced stand by the International Criminal Court [ICC] prosecutor regarding the request in the indictment he referred to the court. It stressed solidarity with Sudan in the face of any plans aiming to encroach on its sovereignty, unity and stability.

The National Assembly rejects Al-Bashir indiction

KHARTOUM (16 July)- The National Assembly which was attended by 315 MPs and 17 ministers unanimously rejected the direction of the International Criminal Court (ICC) accusing President Al-Bashir, for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Darfur in an urgent parliamentary session chaired by the National Assembly Speaker, Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir on Wednesday.

Security System Reform seminar concludes

JUBA (14th July) A Security System Reform (SSR) seminar supported by the Swiss military has been concluded amidst great optimism for greater coordination between Southern Sudan's different security organs. “Security is the responsibility of the government and all its channels of administration. JUBA(4th July ) About seven Political parties in southern Sudan held a three days consensus conference which was concluded last Monday in Rock City. The meeting aimed to explore methods of cooperation amongst parties. South Sudan deploys to stop Ugandan attacks

JUBA (3 July) - Southern Sudan Vice President Riek Machar has ordered a military attack on armed people outside the Ugandan rebel assembly points in its massive campaign to crack down attacks on civilians. Dr. Machar announcement followed a government order on Ugandan troops to leave Sudanese territory on Monday, blaming it on recent civilian's attacks at the border with Uganda.

Chadian leader rules out peace discussions with Sudan

Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno on Wednesday ruled out any possibility of meeting his Sudanese counterpart Omar Hassan al-Bashir to discuss peace.
The president, who was speaking during an interview with Radio France International (RFI) on the sidelines of an African Union summit in Egypt, appeared to dim prospects for a negotiated settlement to end a long-running dispute with neighboring Sudan.

1992 Haunts wives of heroes

JUBA (30th June) -Wives of men killed in the famous 1992 White House lynching have requested for 7th July every year to be a day of remembrance of the death of their husbands. “We are afraid of the fading memory of the values for which our husbands were killed”, said one woman. In 1992 scores of men were rounded up, detained and consequently killed by the military and security intelligence organs in Southern Sudan's Juba capital.

Police arrests 16 armed gangsters

JUBA (12 June) Information leaked through the cooperation of a suspect has led to the arrest of 16 members of his gang. This operation was a joint effort by the Military and Civilian Police. The armed robbers were intercepted and arrested yesterday morning (Tuesday) at Kor Romula, Kator payam in Juba. “We arrested one suspect and he led us to where his colleagues are based”, said Brig. Kur Deng.

Pact Sudan Inaugurate 1,000 Boreholes, Government Criti

BOR (June 12th) US aided Non-Governmental Organization Pact Sudan on June 10 inaugurated the drilling of 1,000 boreholes across the 78 Counties of Southern Sudan.
Speaking to government officials and Bor Community, Pact Water for Recovery and Peace Program (WRAPP) manager Mengistu Teklemariam also announced plans for the rehabilitation of 620 hand pumps, construction of solar powered water distribution systems for 15 small towns, and provision of 12 public latrines in 12 towns.
